How a diagonal-emission recessed downlight was specified to create directional accent lighting in a contemporary hospitality interior without visible hardware.

In hospitality interiors, accent lighting has to do two things simultaneously: direct attention precisely, and disappear from sight. A fixture that draws the eye to itself rather than to what it’s illuminating has failed at the fundamental task.

The MINILED DIAGO was specified here because its diagonal emission solved both requirements at once.

THE SPECIFICATION

WHY DIAGONAL EMISSION MATTERS

Standard downlights illuminate downward. Diagonal emission creates grazing light — the kind that reveals texture in stone, timber, plaster, or fabric rather than flattening it. In a hospitality space built on material quality, that distinction changes how every surface reads after dark.

The best accent lighting makes everything else look better. The fixture itself should be invisible.
