The Story Behind the Name

BYIBA began with a simple sentence from Gordon Bullard to his daughter:

“Be yourself. It’ll be alright.”

After a difficult day at school, those words became a reminder of confidence, individuality, and trust. A few moments later, his daughter shortened the phrase into BYIBA — a name built around the idea that every person, every space, and every project should have the freedom to be itself.

Years before BYIBA became a lighting brand, the name was already there, carrying that meaning.
