How Undici Round recessed ceiling fixtures were used to create an immersive star map ceiling across a large-scale casino gaming floor.

Casino interiors live in the atmosphere. The challenge is always the same: how do you create an environment that feels immersive and memorable without overwhelming the space people are actually there to use?

This project answered that question by looking up.

THE INSTALLATION

Byiba’s Undici Round was the only logical choice — a recessed ceiling fixture with a 0.62″ aperture, requiring just 1.18″ of ceiling depth. That combination of minimal hole size and high light output made it possible to map hundreds of fixtures across a deep navy ceiling to replicate real constellation positions — Cancer, Leo, Leo Minor, Hydra, Sextans, Coma Berenicis, Canes Venatica — with constellation lines and gold script labels completing the astronomical chart.
