Plaster-in
COLLECTION

Seamless architectural luminaires that disappear into the surface — cast in mineral compound and finished flush with plaster, drywall and concrete for a trimless, monolithic result.

The Collection

Light that becomes part of the architecture

What is Recessed Lighting?

Recessed lighting is installed into a wall, ceiling or floor rather than mounted onto its surface. The luminaire sits inside the structure so its housing disappears, leaving only the aperture — and the light itself — visible.

In a plaster-in system this goes one step further: the fixture is cast in mineral compound and skimmed over with plaster or paint, so there is no trim, frame or shadow gap at all. The surface reads as continuous and the light appears to come from the architecture itself.

Key Benefits of Recessed Lighting:

  • Durable & discreet
  • Clean, minimal design
  • Space-saving
  • Low glare, better comfort
  • Even, layered light
  • Architectural integration

Materials

Engineered mineral compounds

Our recessed fixtures are cast in two proprietary mineral materials developed for architectural lighting — each chosen for how it behaves inside the surface it becomes part of.

CRISTALY® Indoor

A compound designed to enhance light, fully compatible with plasterboard installation. Its low thermal conductivity, non-deforming and non-flammable surface make it safe in easily accessible areas. Perfectly white and pure to the touch, it can be finished with any water-based paint — and is independently certified as powerfully antibacterial, purifying the air in both light and dark.

BETALY® Outdoor

An artisanal raw material drawn from nature — a synergy of cements, precious marbles, quartz and fluvial sands — engineered as an ultra-high performance concrete. Coloured right through the paste, every cast piece is unrepeatable, with an efflorescence that gives it a unique, living surface. Built for any outdoor environment.

Installation

Plaster-in, finished flush

The recessed housing is set into the substrate, connected and skimmed over — leaving no trim, no shadow gap and no visible fixing. Four steps from opening to invisible.

01

Set the housing

Fit the recessed frame into drywall, plaster or masonry at the required depth.

02

Connect the driver

Wire the LED module and remote driver; test before closing the surface.

03

Plaster over

Skim plaster or filler right up to the aperture for a continuous surface.

04

Paint & finish

Decorate the wall as normal — only the light remains visible.

Applications

Designed for demanding
environments

Trimless, low-glare and easy to keep clean — the recessed collection performs where architecture and wellbeing matter most.

Healthcare · Amber Light

Amber light for hospitals

In wards that never fully go dark, staff still need to see — but patients need to sleep. Recessed amber night-light solves both. Its warm 1800–2200K glow is visible to the eye, yet reads as biological darkness to the part of the retina that governs the body clock.

Because it barely suppresses melatonin, amber light lets patients keep a natural sleep-wake rhythm through the night while nurses move safely between beds. Studies link it to calmer patients, fewer night-time falls, faster stress recovery and better rest — a passive, always-on intervention built quietly into the ceiling.

What does "plaster-in" mean?

The recessed housing is set into the substrate, then plaster or filler is skimmed right up to the aperture and painted over. The fixture disappears into the surface, leaving no trim, frame or shadow gap — only the light is visible.

BETALY® is an ultra-high performance concrete coloured through the paste — frost-, UV- and salt-resistant, built for outdoor use. CRISTALY® is a plasterboard-compatible mineral compound: perfectly white, paintable with any water-based colour, non-flammable and certified antibacterial for interiors.

Yes. The CRISTALY® surface accepts any water-based paint, so the luminaire can be finished in the exact wall colour on site — blending in completely or, if preferred, contrasting deliberately.

In ceilings, walls and floors across hotels, hospitals and healthcare, offices, restaurants, museums and galleries, and retail. BETALY® versions are IP-rated for outdoor and wet locations, while CRISTALY® suits accessible indoor surfaces.

Warm 1800–2200K amber light is visible enough for staff to move safely, yet barely suppresses melatonin — so patients keep a natural sleep-wake rhythm. It’s linked to calmer patients, fewer night-time falls and better rest, built quietly into the ceiling.

Everything is open. Because each fixture is cast and finished by hand, dimensions, geometry, optics, output and colour temperature (from warm 1800K amber to neutral white) are all specified per project.
